This easy to grow dye plant makes a blue dye& other colors. I grow woad and now am experimenting with indigo too. This plant is easy to grow. I used it to naturally dye cotton, wool and silk . It does not require a mordant. I start it in plugs and transplant it to a bed in the spring after the danger of frost is over I found that it dyes silk a turquoise color as well as a brown with another technique. It dyed cotton green.
