A rare heirloom bush bean (pea) that has long pods on top of the plant like black eyed peas.50 seed plants a 25 ft row. Old heirloom (unknown origin ) came as a gift from a woman in the southern black community. It is some sort of pea/bean like black-eyed peas in growth habit but taste different and looks different. It has no insect or disease problems and is a reliable producer of large beans that are held on the top of the plant in 8 inch long pods . Delicious fresh ,about the size of baby limas and easy to shell….unique and tasty …freshly steamed. Also makes a superb cream soup (hence the name) from the dried beans.
