This is the Equestrium Hymale variety, also called field horsetail. It is a perennial medicinal & landscape. Plant bare root SP /fall. This native plant is used around ponds and in the landscape where an evergreen 2-3 tall grass is useful. It spreads like mint, so put in a container or closed space or where it can spread naturally. It was used in colonial times as a scouring rush to polish silver and pewter. It is very high in silica making it useful for bones, teeth , joints and hair as well as in soils. A tea can be made with it to help in fungal problems in plants. It is similar as Equestrium arvense in this but grows better in sandy soils. I ship bare root plants in spring or fall.
