They are hardy here in Zone 7. I trialed these plants here for a year, growing them outside in containers as well as in my unheated greenhouse. I found last year’s winter killed container plants but they came back planted in the ground. It is wonderful to have a ginseng substitute that is basically free ,once you have it established. I use it to give me stamina and help reduce my cholesterol but it has many other benefits as well. It is beautiful as a screen or in handing baskets and would be nice on a trellis.
