Description

This mum is a rare variety that has been in our family for over 50 years. Grows 3-4 ft tall and is a long lasting cut flower. This plant came originally from the sidewalk planting of the veterans housing after World War II where I lived as a child in Delmar. My mother took a cutting when we moved to the farm and I got a cutting from her when we started this homestead in ’78. It is worth saving as it is one of those mums that comes back every year with a little care, unlike modern mums that you have to buy every year. I love it because it is one of the few flowers after the frost kills the rest and I love the salmon and yellow colors. Available bare root in spring or fall only. I ship a small, bare root plant for you to start your own plantings. It will spread from the roots but is not invasive. It will get 3-4 ft tall and likes full sun but will tolerate light shade and lack of water. I ship these plants in March/April and Oct./ Nov.
